Core competency lies in the creative talents of the associates who, as authors, directors and actors, have been successful in the business for more then ten years. They are therefore not dependend on project acquisition. Instead they are capable of developing material autarcically and can fill all the important creative positions themselves.

In the future BADLANDS FILM wants to produce films by other writers and directors as well.

Matthias Glasner and Lars Kraume have both worked as writers, directors as well as producers and next to his acting Jürgen Vogel has produced several films. In addition, Lars Kraume has also gathered experiences distributing his films “Kismet” and “Keine Lieder über Liebe”. Frank Döhmann, also known as the producer of „Der Freie Wille“, encounter the company 2009.

The name BADLANDS FILMS stems from the New-Hollywood movement of the seventies, a time which significantly inspired the associates. The company founders’ philosophy is that film is the most exciting, albeit most costly art form of the 20th century and that an interesting, strong and financially successful production company can only work if it creates films that attract attention nationally as well as internationally. The films must be emotional and individual as to stand out from the conformity of uninspired mass productions.

BADLANDS FILM wants to be a home for extraordinary film makers willing to take a risk – film makers who have the dream to create extraordinary films that remain in the consciousness of large audiences.
